THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne, Chief of the Air Staff, inaugurated the Commanders’ Conference at the Southern Air Command (SAC) on Wednesday.

  He touched upon the global security scenario with special reference to its implications on the southern peninsula.

  Browne, who is on his first visit to SAC as Air Chief, outlined his vision statement for the IAF - ‘People First, Mission Always’ - and urged the commanders to empower subordinates by giving them required operational skills ‘through dedicated training and mentoring.’

  All Commanders of the Air Force Stations/wings under HQ Southern Air Command are participating in the conference and exchanging their views on defence related issues in the two-day conference, a defence spokesperson said.     Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff inspected a Guard of Honour by the SAC Air warriors. He also addressed all the personnel of SAC.
