THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kilimanoor Police have arrested two youths working as contract labourers with a Technopark firm for gang raping a minor girl.

Robin Mathai of Kundara in Kollam and Anish of Murukumpuzha were arrested by the police from an apartment near Kazhakoottam the other day for raping a 16-year-old girl.

According to Kilimanoor Circle-Inspector Ashok Kumar, three youths had befriended the girl,a plus-one student of a parallel college near here, over the mobile phone.

The youths on March 13 took the girl to their rented apartment in Kazhakoottam after promising to marry her and raped her.

The girl was kept in the apartment for two days.

Meanwhile the police had registered a case of man missing and intensified the search for the girl.  Finally they tracked her down to Kaniyapuram and on medical examination it was revealed that she was gang raped. The third person involved in the case is still missing. The arrested were remanded to prison on Wednesday.
