THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Medical College Police arrested four persons who were attempting to commit robbery at Kesavadasapuram on Friday night. Malayan Dileep, 39, Abas Ani, 32 and Ani, 40, of Ulloor and Rajendra Babu, 43, of Medical College were nabbed by the police team during a night time operation based on secret information.  

According to the police, the arrests were made when the four were attempting to rob shops at Kesavadasapuram.

  Of the four, Malayan Dileep is a history sheeter with more than a dozen cases in his name. He rose to notoriety after raping a fish vending lady near Ulloor in broad daylight. He is also accused of robbery and assault.

The three others are also involved in a couple of other cases.

  The operation was led by Medical College CI A Pramod Kumar and SI Shaji Mon. The arrested has been remanded to custody.
