THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Confederation of Residents’ Associations (CONFRA), in its committee meeting, has flayed the practice of burning plastic in the city as an easy way out of the plastic menace.

The Confederation has demanded that criminal case should be registered against those who burn plastic, as the fumes would have fatal effects on humans.

It said that the Corporation councillors, representatives of local bodies and residents’ associations should formulate ways to collect plastic and effectively utilise it.

The Confederation of Residents’ Associations also demanded the cleaning up of water resources in the city such as ponds with a long-term vision.
