CIAL dividend

The dividend of Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) was handed over to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Wednesday.

Airports Minister K Babu handed over the cheque for Rs 15.75 crore to the CM. During the year 2011-12, the shareholders were given 16 per cent dividend.

The first public-private sector airport in the country has 17,000 shareholders. The total income of CIAL for the year 2011-12 was Rs 276 crore and the profit after tax was Rs 102 crore.

In the previous year, the total income was Rs 245 crore and profit after tax was Rs 90 crore. After the functioning of the airport, a profit of Rs 80 crore was received by the State Government.

This is for the ninth consecutive year that CIAL registers profit.
