Two youngsters killed as their bikes collide head-on

Accidents continue to claim lives in the district. Two youngsters lost their lives in a bike accident at Poongampara, near Kattakkada, on Friday.

Police identified the deceased as Amal, 21, of Veeranakav and Aji, 20 of Karingal.

Akhilendra Vishnu, 21, who was riding pillion to Amal and Vaisakh, 21, who was travelling with Aji, who were injured in the accident,  were admitted to Medical College Hospital, Thiruvanananthpuram.

The mishap occurred around 7.30 am when Amal’s bike collided with that of Aji while attempting to overtake an autorickshaw.

Amal and Akhilendra Vishnu were travelling from Pongummood to Kattakkada, and Aji and Vaisakh were coming in the opposite direction.

Amal died on the spot and Aji succumbed to injuries on the way to Medical College Hospital. 

Amal was the son of Sasikumaran Nair, Veeranakav and Aji  of Sasi, Ooruruttukala.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.

Akhilendra Vishnu is the son of Bhuvanachandran, Kalambattukkonam and Vaisakh of Venukumar, Mailottumoozhi.
