Murali unhappy with proposed Congress revamp

Expressing his displeasure at the proposed organisational revamp in the Congress, former KPCC president K Muraleedharan said that there was nothing new in the list of office-bearers that had been prepared now.

“Everyone should get adequate representation in the list. The present list has nothing new. The ‘A’ and the ‘I’ groups have divided prominent posts among themselves. And the remaining is just being given to others, which is not a good trend,” he said.

Muraleedharan said that the new list contained nothing new but was just like shifting some persons from one place to another.

“When I was the KPCC president, a committee was formed for reconstituting various committees. It was only after consultations with all concerned that a list was finalised,” he said and added that the present revamp would not be of any benefit to the party.

The much-delayed organisational revamp is set to be finalised soon with the factions headed by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala coming to an understanding on sharing of posts.

It was learnt that the unified ‘I’ group led by Chennithala and the ‘A’ group led by Chandy would be sharing seven district president posts each.
