Sabarimala Temple closed after Onam

The hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa was closed on Friday evening, marking the conclusion of the four-day Onam celebrations.

Sahasrakalasam and kalabhabhishekam were the special rituals held on the concluding day.

As part of sahasrakalasam, kalasa pooja was held under the leadership of Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru and Melsanthi G Balamurali on Friday evening after deeparadhana.

Kalasabhishekam on the idol of the deity was performed during Uchcha pooja marking the conclusion of the ritual.

Udayasthamana pooja, padi pooja and pushpabhishekam were the other rituals held at the temple.

The shrine was closed in the evening after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam.The temple will be reopened on September 16 evening for the five-day monthly poojas for the Malayalam month of Kanni.
