Hindu Aikyavedi to stage dharna

The Hindu Aikyavedi will stage a Secretariat dharna on Monday, at 10.30 a m, demanding a CBI inquiry into the conspiracy behind Marad killings, state secretary Brahmachari Bhargavaram said, according to a press release issued here.

Bhargavaram said that the court had recently observed that a detailed probe should be conducted on the conspiracy behind the killings.

The CPM and Muslim League had demanded a CBI inquiry. The Chief Minister had also announced in public that the case would be handed over to the CBI.

“Then which factor prevents the CBI probe?” Bhargavaram  asked.

The Vedi state secretary also urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the Union Ministers from the state to take a leading hand in this matter.

The relatives of the deceased and the victims of the riot will take part in the dharna.

The dharna will be inaugurated by Gandhian P Gopinathan Nair.

The leaders of various Hindu communities and Vedi leaders such as K N Raveendra Nath, Kummanam Rajasekharan, E S Biju and K P Haridas will take part in the function.
