All-India Sunni Jameyathul Ulema general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar has called for stringent action against those who are trying to spread anarchy and violence across the globe by producing a blasphemous film.

Addressing the media here, he said that protests are occurring in different parts of the world against the film ‘Innocence of Muslims’ which is blasphemous and urged  the Central Government to take measures to prevent the circulation of the film through internet in the country. Some people are using the opportunity to unleash violence in the world which is unacceptable. The Union Government should take steps to prevent any such violence in the country, he said.

Referring to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s remark that communalism is gaining ground in the state, Kanthapuram said that he did not understand in what background the Prime Minister had made a such a statement and added that chances of extremism gaining an upper hand in the state is less when compared to other states.
