CM: Apprehensions of NSS on Emerging Kerala will be cleared

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that there is nothing fishy about Emerging Kerala and those who have been campaigning earlier that it is going to be an event where government land will be up for sale or lease has eaten humble pie now.

“Opposition Deputy Leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan is on record saying that nothing has emerged out of the event, forgetting his own earlier stand that sale and lease of government land is the sole objective of the meet,” ridiculed Chandy.

“Now it has become clear to all that not only land will be sold to anyone but those granted earlier on lease but remaining unutilised is going to be taken back within a six-month period, if steps are not taken for the earmarked project.”

Asked why organisations such as the NSS are continuing its opposition and even maintaining that the Chief Minister seems to have been misled and trapped by a mafia, Chandy said that many might have been carried away by the smear campaign.

“Organisations such as the NSS and the SNDP have every right to raise doubts and apprehensions on the initiative. They might have had misunderstandings. It is our responsibility to clarify all points and convince them. We will do it,”, he said.

“Emerging Kerala will propel a quantum leap for the state on the development front. There need not be any doubt on it for anyone. It will be transparent and judicious,” he claimed.
