The investigation into the suicide of Additional Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sreekantan Nair is likely to be handed over to the Crime Branch (CB). This is following some references in his suicide note against some police officers.

Presently, Circle Inspector Museum T Mohanan Nair is probing the case.

It was on Friday afternoon that Sreekantan Nair, 56, an ASI with the city police control room, was found hanging from the ceiling of a lodge room at Jagathy. He had left a suicide note, a copy of which had been sent to the media also, in which there were references against some officers.

In the suicide note, he also referred to the mental agony he was undergoing over a case pending against him, which he had to face as  part of doing his official duty.

Sreekantan Nair, a native of Kurishmuttam Vilavoorkkal, was to retire from service this month.
