The Christ Nagar International School (CNIS) has won the International School Award (ISA) for the year 2012-13 instituted by the British Council. This is the second time that the school is getting the award, which was given for the school’s year-long academic and co-curricular activities.

This accreditation was awarded after the school “proved its ongoing commitment to international education through stringent evaluation process on the basis of chosen projects given by the British Council”, according to a release issued by the school.

The activities undertaken were divided under different topics: My Ecological Footprint, Forms of Governance, Myths and Legends, Role of Women in the Development of the Global World, Bridges around the World, Path to Tourism, Mathematics through Ages and Fabric Tales. As part of the various projects, students and teachers had undertaken various activities, including skits, exhibition and campaigns which would take them beyond “mere bookish learning” and “out of the classrooms to the wider perspectives of the outside world”.

The ISA is meant to develop a ‘’global citizenship among students’’, and aims to support and develop partnerships between India and UK for building a network of Indian schools with international links.
