Camp on for NCC Cadets at Pangode

As many as 270 NCC cadets, including 120 cadets selected for the Republic Day contingent, are attending a training camp organised by the 2 Kerala Battalion NCC at the Military Station, Pangode.

As many as 270 NCC cadets, including 120 cadets selected for the Republic Day contingent, are attending a training camp organised by the 2 Kerala Battalion NCC at the Military Station, Pangode.

Intensive training in various cultural as well as physical activities is being given to the cadets from the five NCC groups of Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC Directorate, NCC officials said.

The primary aim of the training camp is to prepare cadets for Republic Day (RD) contingents’ competitions such as drill, cultural activities, national integration awareness, best cadets competitions, aero and ship modelling and youth exchange programmes.

 In addition to the RD training for 120 cadets, the Annual Training Camp for 150 cadets is also being held here. These cadets are being prepared for the forthcoming NCC Certificate examinations.

 The camp will conclude on Sunday. Major General B Chakravarti, Additional Director General NCC; Brigadier Sanal Kumar, Deputy Director General; and all group commanders will visit and evaluate the conduct of the camp. The Camp Commandant is Lt Col P J Simon, Officiating Commanding Officer of 2 Kerala Battalion.
