Muttathu Varkey Birth Fete

The second phase of the birth centenary celebrations of popular writer Muttathu Varkey will be held in Thiruvananthapuram and Changanassery from Friday, according to the Muttathu Varkey Foundation.

The second phase of the birth centenary celebrations of popular writer Muttathu Varkey will be held in Thiruvananthapuram and Changanassery from Friday, according to the Muttathu Varkey Foundation.

The celebrations at Changanassery will be held on Friday and Saturday, which will see the presentation of about 20 papers. C Radhakrishnan, K S Ravikumar, M Thomas Mathew, M K Madhavan Nair, C R Omanakuttan and Ravi DC among others will be present on the first day. On the second day, K A Latheef, K M Krishnan, C Ashokan and Joyce will be present, among others.

On Sunday, the celebrations will be held at the Kanakakkunnu Palace here, which will begin with a seminar on the first Malayalam story. George Onakkur, V N Murali, Sukumar, K S Ravikumar, Vallikavu Mohandas, Sethunath, and Priya Nair will participate.  A documentary, ‘Katha- Muttathu Varkey’, will also be screened as part of the celebrations.

In the evening, Health Minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the commemoration meet, which will be attended by M P Veerendrakumar, T M Sebastian, M R Thampan and others.
