Railway Users Consultative Committee Meet Held

This was the fourth meeting of the DRUCC this year. Fourteen out of the 17 nominated members in the committee participated.

Speaking at the meeting,  DRM Rajesh Agrawal said that work on two passenger lifts in the Central Railway Station here had been awarded to Johnson Lifts and the engineering works had already been started.

On a query regarding the proposed suburban rail services in the Thiruvananthapuram-Haripad and Thiruvananthapuram-Chengannur routes, the DRM said that the study and feasibility report conducted by the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) was yet to be submitted.

To redress the parking problem in Kollam station, the feasibility of a multi-level parking area will be examined, he said.

Proposal for a new station at Elavally in Punkunnam-Guruvayur section is under finalisation.
