102 Auto Drivers Booked

The City police registered cases against 102 autorickshaw drivers for various offences including plying with errant metres and reluctance to make trips to certain locations.

A communication here said 38 autorickshaw drivers plied without operating metres.

58 autorickshaw drivers refused trips to certain locations.

The other offences found were charging of excess fares, misbehaving with passengers, drunken driving and tobacco use.

The surprise check by shadow police team was led by Thampanoor Circle Inspector Sheen Tharayil and Control Room Circle Inspector Pramod Kumar.
