Tourist dies in hospital

A 61-year-old tourist from Singapore died at a private hospital in Poonkulam here on Saturday.

A 61-year-old tourist from Singapore died at a private hospital in Poonkulam here on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Suppiah Thaamathran. According to police, Suppiah died of kidney failure in the morning.

Suppiah was admitted to the hospital with severe stomach ache on Saturday. He also suffered from chronic diabetes. He came to Kerala along with his mother and friends on a vacation two days ago.

The postmortem was conducted on Saturday and the body is kept in the mortuary. His relatives will reach Kerala on Monday and will receive the body.
