SFI organises protest meetings

SFI on Tuesday organised protest meetings at colleges across the state to protest against the move of Muslim organisations to legally challenge the minimum age of marriage prescribed for girls in the Child Marriage (Prevention) Act.

The protest meet at Govt Arts College here was inaugurated by T N Seema MP, state president of All-India Democratic Women’s Association. The meeting was followed by an ‘anti-child marriage pledge’ by SFI activists. The meet at Maharajas College, Ernakulam, was inaugurated by SFI state secretariat member Aneesh M Mathew.  SFI activists will organise a seminar at all district centres on Wednesday with the theme ‘Child Marriage A Threat For Society’, a release said.
