Fashion for a noble cause is what ‘Miss God’s Own Country’, beauty pageant is all about. Along with promoting fashion and lifestyle in Kerala, the pageant supports the rehabilitation of less fortunate children and old age people. As a prelude to the contest, logo and website of the event was launched on April 19 at Crowne Plaza. Logo was launched by director Bobban Samuel and Ranjini Haridas launched the website along with title winners of various prominent beauty pageants.
The finale is scheduled to be held on May 17 at Hotel Crowne Plaza. The competition will unravel the beauty, brilliance and multi-flairs of young girls, in the age group of 18 - 25 years. Bollywood actor Nargis Fakri is the brand ambassador of ‘Miss God’s Own Country’. She will be crowning the winners during the finale.
“The auditions for selecting 21 contestants has begun and contestants will be groomed in various levels,” says Sojan Joseph, managing director, Xlinks group. The show will be co-ordinated by Parvathi Omanakuttan, Former Miss World 1st runner up, Ankitha Shorey, Former Ponds Femina Miss India International, Surabhi Prabhu, Model, Priyesh Patel, Fireworx Casting, Kausthubh Kamble, fashion photographer, Dalu Krishnadas, fashion choreographer and Ambika Pillai, hairstylist and make-up artist.
The event will also see the performances of percussionist Sivamani, Stephan Devassy, percussionist Karunamoorthy and Mattanoor Sankarankutty Marar along with vocalist Palakkad Sreeram. There will also be a scintillating dance performance by Roshni Walia and also by contemporary dance troupe Thandav, who will perform UV Dance for the first time in Kerala.
The entry for the show will be through donar passes and the proceedings from the same will be utilized we intend to support the rehabilitation of street children and for the needy and abandoned people residing in Snehalayam, in Mundathikode, Thrissur.
The event is conducted by XLinks Group, Cochin. The group focuses on film and television production, ad filmmaking, model casting, celebrity management, events and entertainment and public relations.
