Mass Run Held in the City

The meet will be inaugurated by Congress president Sonia Gandhi at Putharikandam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Announcing the 16th state annual meet of Kudumbashree Mission to begin in the city this Tuesday, a mass run was organised here on Sunday morning.

The run was inaugurated by Mayor K Chandrika. It started from Kowdiar Junction and culminated at Kanakakkunnu Palace.

All women participants of the run wore pink colour coats and caps. Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram district mission  organised the event. Kudumbashree executive director K B Valsalakumari, district president Geetha Philip and executive committee member Bindu Krishna led the run.

The three-day meet will be inaugurated by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday at Putharikandam Maidan and will conclude on Thursday. A wide variety of programmes are arranged on the sidelines of the meet.
