Painting Contest on I-Day

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Rotary Club of Trivandrum Aurora is organising a drawing and painting competition for students from LKG to class 12.

The drawing and painting competition for students from LKG to class 12 will be organised on August 15 at Museum ground from 10.30 am.

The competition will be held in four categories like Nursery (LKG and UKG), LP Section ( Class 1 to 4), UP Section (class 5 to 7) and H S Section (class 8 to 12).

Nursery students will be given printed pictures where colouring has to be done using crayons.

Separate topics will be given for the LP, UP and HS sections. Only crayons and water colours are allowed, the Rotary Club said.

Along with the competition, NIMS Hospital will organise a medical check-up for the parents who accompany the children. The students should register their names before August 14. They can register by calling the mobile 9387703456 or email to or

The Rotary Club said that they aim at creating awareness about the history behind independence and the need to aim at future development of India.
