Black Day Observance

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress anti-merger group has decided to observe ‘Chingam’ 1 as black day. In a statement issued here, Kerala Congress anti-merger group chairman P C Thomas said that the Karshaka Union under the party would organise protests on Sunday as part of observing the black day. 

He urged the Central and State Governments to intervene in the issue of falling rubber prices.

“The governments should procure rubber from farmers at the rate of Rs 200 per kg,” he said.
