THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM central leadership has rejected politburo member M A Baby’s call for a merger of Communist parties.
Taking exception to Baby’s stand, senior politburo members asked state leaders not to get involved in unnecessary controversies. The central leadership maintained that the merger call was absurd as there was no change in the organisational, ideological or political differences which resulted in the historic split. Party central leaders said better relations with the CPM and the CPI was the need of the hour.
