Clean Hospitals Project to be Launched on October 2

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Clean Hospitals and Green Hospitals project which is aimed at maintaining cleanliness in government hospitals and providing greenery on its premises, will be launched in the state from October 2, according to Health Minister V S Sivakumar.

He said this while inaugurating the conference of senior medical officers at the Health Institute at Thycaud here.  The minister also said that Sukrutham project which aims at providing free treatment to cancer patients, will also be inaugurated on Gandhi Jayanthi day.

The District Medical Officers have been asked to keep vigil in the wake of outbreak of Ebola disease in West Africa.

Instructions have been issued to strengthen the ‘Safe Kerala - Epidemic control programme’ with the cooperation of the Food Safety Department and the local bodies.

NRHM director Minhaj Alam, Director of Health Services Dr P K Jameela, Additional directors Dr N Sreedhar, Dr A S Pradeep Kumar, District Medical officers and district programme managers were present at the conference.
