Govt Issues Rs 1000 Crore Bonds

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government issued bonds worth Rs 1000 crore on Friday.

 It is for the second time in the month that the government is borrowing money. The auction of the bonds will be held on August 26. The auction will be through open market borrowing scheme. The buying and selling of government securities will be held in the open market. For details can contact: finance.kerala.gov.in.

 Bonds worth Rs 700 crore have already been issued in the first week of August. This is the seventh time during the ongoing fiscal year that the govt has issued bonds for ‘’utilising money for developmental activities’’.  Bonds worth Rs 1000 crore each were issued on April 3 and 22 and on July 18, bonds worth Rs 1200 crore on May 23 and worth Rs 500 crore on June 21.
