Supplyco Employees Call off Indefinite Strike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The employees of the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) have called off their indefinite strike.

The strike was called off after the action council leaders met Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob, Supplyco MD A T James and Civil Supplies Commissioner Shyam Jagannathan.

The Minister said that the demands set by the striking staff would be favourably considered.

It was also decided to convert the pension scheme in Supplyco to a contributory pension scheme. Follow-up discussions will be held on September 11.
