Online Registration for Kerala Science Congress Launched

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) has launched an online registration for the 27th edition of Kerala Science Congress (KSC) to be held in Alappuzha from January 27, 2015. Tessy Thomas, project director, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and chairperson of KSC launched the facility.

Delegates for the Congress can register online through the official website of the Science Congress at www.ksc.kerala.gov.in.

More than 2,000 delegates, including researchers, teachers, scholars, and students, are expected to attend the annual congress which will be presided over by KSCSTE executive vice-president V N Rajasekharan Pillai.

Discussions at KSC will include possible scientific solutions to ecological, social and developmental issues of the host town Alappuzha, such as the below mean sea-level conditions and inland water transport.

Experts would also discuss ways to support Alappuzha’s traditional economic sectors such as agriculture, coir industry, fishing, cashew and handloom.

In addition to the special session on the focal theme traditional industries, the Science Congress would host special sessions on Transportation Planning and Research and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing.

Papers will be presented on selected topics, including agriculture, biotechnology, chemical science, engineering & technology, environmental science, forestry and wildlife, fisheries and veterinary science, geo-science, health science, Information Technology and computer science, life science, mathematical science, physical science education, science communication, science and society and transportation engineering.
