The National Savings Scheme (NSS) and Communications and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) of the Water Resources Dept are joining hands in an effort to take the message of water conservation to the households of Kerala on Saturday.

The scheme ‘Jalasambadyam Suddhajala Samruddhikkayi’ will be inaugurated simultaneously in 1,500 local self-government centres across the state at 11 am on Saturday and will be attended by the local leaders and government officials.

The scheme aims at spreading awareness about water conservation and promote measures such as rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, well recharge, water quality testing and protection of sources at the household level, said NSS director Jose Jacob and CCDU director V Subhash Chandrabose in a press release.

This information dissemination will be done through around 11,000 agents of the NSS, who visit around 65 lakh households in the state every month as part of the savings collection.
