Lekshmi Nair, Principal of Kerala Law Academy Law College here, has been nominated as special invitee to the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India.
The committee makes recommendations to the Bar Council of India on all matters pertaining to legal education in the country. Supreme Court former judge Justice A P Mishra is the chairman of the committee, which consists of five members of the Bar Council of India and five co-opted members representing the judiciary, the Law Ministry, the University Grants Commission and the academia.
Lekshmi Nair, who has made a mark of her own in the field of legal education, has been serving as Principal and Professor of the Kerala Law Academy Law College for many years. She did her LLB, LLM and PhD from the Academy.
She secured first rank in LLM from the University of Kerala and is the second-rank holder for BA degree in History from the same university.
Lekshmi Nair was also a recipient of the Cullen Award for Outstanding and Meritorious Performance in the LLM examination.
