A comprehensive programme to expand IT-based learning in the general education sector will be launched soon, Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb said.

A comprehensive programme to expand IT-based learning in the general education sector will be launched soon, Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb said.

The project involves providing 2 MBPS connection in all schools in the state. The first phase will cover 1,105 schools, including 14 district resource centres, in Thrissur, Malappuram and Kottayam. A video conferencing and internet telephone system will be launched to connect 14 DDE offices and the offices of the Education Minister and General Education secretary. “The facility will help to make the administration of the General Education Dept more effective and to conduct hearings without delay,” the Minister said. “ICT-based learning materials for Class IX and Classs X students will be made available through the IT@School web portal,” he said.
