Youth Rally Flagged off

The National Youth Policy 2014 is meant for the all-round development and empowerment of youth and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) for providing all necessary infrastructure and facilities for promotion of sports in the country

Health Minister V S Sivakumar and K Muraleedharan MLA flagged off a youth rally organised by  the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from the Palayam campus of Kerala University on Friday as part of the nationwide launch of National Youth Policy-2014 (NYP 2014) and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

The National Youth Policy 2014 (NYP-2014) is meant for the all-round development and empowerment of youth and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) for providing all necessary infrastructure and facilities for promotion of sports in the country.

The youth rally had a participation of 1,500 youths from among the NSS volunteers from Kerala University, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) youth club members, NCC cadets and students from Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Kariavattom.

A cycle rally with the participation of 30 cyclists from LNCPE was also taken out.

During the flag-off ceremony, N Veeramanikandan, pro vice-chancellor of Kerala University; Sajeev Joseph from the board of governors NYKS, New Delhi; R V Rajesh, chairman of State Youth Commission, G Kishore, principal, LNCPE; Manjuvillaham Jain, advisory member, NYKS and sports persons Renjith Maheswari and M A Prajusha were present. The rally culminated at Central Stadium here.
