Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the ‘Products Block’ at Milma Thiruvananthapuram Dairy, Ambalathara, at 4 pm on Wednesday.
Dairy Development Minister K C Joseph will preside over the function. The new block, constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore, will solve the acute space crunch faced by the dairy, Milma officials said. The financial assistance was made available in the form of a loan from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and as grant from the Rashtriya Krishi Vikay Yojana (RKVY).
Health Minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the ‘Society Networking’ scheme of Milma on the occasion. Mayor K Chandrika will distribute financial assistance for farmers whose cattle have been afflicted with Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and V Sivankutty MLA will hand over the certificates to the best ice-cream canopy units.
