Financial Aid to 10 Girls

The Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation (KSWDC) will provide financial support to 10 girl students for civil service coaching. The initiative will be carried out in association with the Kerala Civil Service Academy, using the plan fund of the KSWDC.

The eligible candidates will be selected from the rank list of the Civil Service Academy. The KSWDC will pay the tuition fees directly to the Academy.

“The decision to help students of financially-backward families was taken a few weeks ago,” KSWDC chairperson P Kulsu said.

The KSWDC would pay an accommodation fee of Rs 3,500 every month for a year directly to the candidate as cheque. Travel and accommodation charges for civil service preliminary and main examinations will also be provided by the KSWDC.

Through the initiative, the KSWDC aims at ensuring more women participation in the field of administration. It is one among the recent initiatives of the KSWDC, which is about to launch a slew of projects.

The KSWDC is also all set to start ‘Women Cells’ in 40 women’s colleges in the state to motivate the youth and develop their interpersonal skills.
