Traffic regulations will be in place in the city on Friday in view of a march planned by the Kerala Region Latin Catholic Council (KRLCC), the City Police Commissioner said. The march is planned at 3 pm from Palayam to the Putharikandam Maidan.
Once the KRLCC workers start assembling at Palayam, vehicles coming from Pattom, Vellayambalam side should take the RR Lamp, Public Library, Nandavanam, Panchapura, Flyover, and Model School route to Thampanoor and East Fort side.
Vehicles from Chackai side should take the Pettah, Pattoor, Vanchiyoor, Uppidammoodu, Sreekanteswaram and Mitranandapuram route to East Fort and vehicles bound for Thampanoor should move via Uppidamoodu, Chettikulangara and Overbridge.
Once the march arrives at Overbridge, vehicles moving from Chackai side to Thampanoor should take either Asan Square, Flyover, G V Raja, RR Lamp and Public Library route or go via Asan Square, Underpass, Panchapura and Panavila.
The following routes are recommended once the march reaches Panchapura, Asan Square and Public Library: Vehicles from the NH and MC Road should go via Pattom, Vazhuthacaud to East Fort and Thampanoor. Vehicles from Peroorkada and Sasthamangalam side should go via Vellayambalam and Sasthamangalam side to East Fort and Thampanoor. Motorists driving from East Fort side to NH, MC Road, Peroorkada, Sasthamangalam side should take the Attakulangara, Killipalam, Mettukada, Vazhuthacaud and Pattom route. Vehicles from Thampanoor to NH, MC Road, Peroorkada, Sasthamangalam should go via Flyover, Mettukada, Vazhuthacaud.
