A young woman jumped into a well and died, following an altercation with her mother.

According to the Kallambalam Police, 18-year-old Anjani’s suicide was provoked by a tiff with her mother Sunitha.

The police said that Sunitha did not approve of Anjani’s phone conversations. When the mother took away the young student’s mobile phone, she flung herself into the well, said the police.

Though the Fire and Rescue Services were called, by the time they reached the girl had passed away.

Anjani was awaiting Plus-II results.

The deceased’s father is working in the Gulf.

Man Goes Missing

The Pallickal Police have registered a case of a 42-year-old man gone missing. Vinod Kumar, who lives near Vettiyara SKV School, had left home on April 26. He had told his wife that he is going in search of a job.

According to his wife’s account, he told her that he would be heading to Ernakulam first and then to Kayamkulam.

Vinod Kumar’s wife works in a cashew factory. They have two sons.

Woman Struck by Lightning Dies

A 44-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning on Sunday.

The deceased, Rajamma, lived at Panayincode, near Vilappilsala, with her mother.

She was immediately taken to the Medical College Hospital here, but succumbed to the burns. She died around 6 pm.
