The Valiyathura Police on Thursday arrested a man in a passport forgery case.
The arrested has been identified as Shafeeq, 29, son of Abdul Majeed, of Navayikkulam.
According to the police, Shafeeq had doctored his year of birth from 1985 to 1982 in the passport, which made him eligible for a driver’s post in the Gulf.
Years later the Immigration officials, while corroborating the passport with his ration card, identified the false detail, the police said.
