The Local Self-Government Secretary has issued a circular directing the Corporation to demolish illegal constructions within 15 days if the owners fail to submit applications as per norms within the stipulated time.
The circular, issued the other day, directs the officials to identify illegal constructions, the buildings for which the Corporation has given urban agglomeration number as well as the ones without the urban agglomeration number.
“The practice to provide urban agglomeration number to illegal constructions should be stopped and legal action should be taken against such constructions,” according to the circular.
The circular was issued as only a few applications to regularise the illegal constructions were received even though the stipulated time for the same ends on May 13.
