Held for Theft of Cellphones

Fort police arrested one person on Sunday in connection with the theft of mobile phones from a shop in Chala. Chochu Mandal was the person arrested. The arrest is in connection with the theft of 21 mobile phones worth Rs 80,000 from a mobile shop.

 Police said that a phone tower in Aluva picked up a signal from one of the stolen phones. The police traced the call and tracked down one Raju Mandal.  Raju revealed to the police that he bought the phone from Chochu. Later, the police arrested Chochu in connection with the theft.  Police said that Chochu had an accomplice and they are still searching for him.  According to police, the two broke into the mobile phone shop at night. Chochu is from West Bengal, while his aide is from Assam. ENS
