Ambedkar Sadseva Awards Announced

Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu and entrepreneur-philanthropist Bobby Chemmanur are among the winners of the ‘Ambedkar Sadseva Awards’ instituted by the Ambedkar Centre of India.

Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu and entrepreneur-philanthropist Bobby Chemmanur are among the winners of the ‘Ambedkar Sadseva Awards’ instituted by the Ambedkar Centre of India.

 Serial-cinema artist Kanakalatha, serial artist Rameshan Valiyasala and writer Mahila Babu are other winners from the field of art and culture.

 The winners from the field of media are: Anil Emmanuel (Manorama News), P R Praveena (Asianet News), Jayan Menon (Malayala Manorama), M H Vishnu (Kerala Kaumudi) and Arjun Das (The News Bullet).

 The awards will be presented by Union Minister for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor at a function to be held at YMCA Hall here on June 4. Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar will inaugurate a seminar on the topic ‘Ambedkar Centre of India and Poverty Alleviation’ to be held as part of the programme.

Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob will inaugurate the distribution of financial assistance for various beneficiaries. KTDC chairman Vijayan Thomas will deliver the keynote address and Mayor K Chandrika will be the chief guest.

 The function will be presided over by Mundela Prasad, state president of Ambedkar Centre of India.
