The Secretary of City Corporation has ordered an inquiry into the procedure followed in finding the beneficiaries for the BSUP housing scheme in Valiyathura ward under the Corporation following a complaint submitted by a resident to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy pointing out the anomalies in the identification process carried out by the ward councillor.
A report has been sought in 15 days from the Corporation deputy secretary and UPA project officer. The decision was taken based on the complaint filed by M F Dennisen, a resident of Valiyathura. Following which, the Corporation has temporarily stalled allotting financial assistance to the chosen beneficiaries with immediate effect.
