'Discuss Bar Issue with Civil Society'

K Muralidharan MLA has said that govt should discuss the issues related to the bar licence and prohibition  with the civil society before adopting a policy.  Inaugurating the two-day fast organised under the aegis of the Kerala Madya Nirodhana Samithi in front of the Secretariat, he said as total prohibition was the ultimate aim of the Congress  Party, the govt should take brave steps in this direction.

Led by samithi state president Fr Thomas Thythottathil, those taking part in the fast offered floral tribute at Martyrs  column.Poet Sugathakumari said it was the duty of political parties, cultural organisations to support this movement.Gandhian P Gopinathan Nair said following public protest a total of 418 bars had been closed and the govt had the responsibility to  maintain the status quo.
