'Anti-people Policies of UPA Led to BJP's Win'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Welfare Party of India (WPI) said that the anti-people policies of the UPA Government led to the BJP coming to power in the Lok Sabha elections.

“The 10 years of UPA rule has shattered the lives of people,” WPI state president Hameed Vaniyambalam said and added that the people had given a befitting reply for the same.

He also said that the BJP got a better result only because the political parties, including the Left, could not oppose the anti-people policies of the UPA Government. “The Congress in Kerala got an edge over the CPM only due to the arrogant nature of the Left leaders. They should learn from their failure,” he said.

Hameed also said that the WPI, which contested for the first time in the elections in the state, had fared well.

“It is positive that the views of the party were accepted,” he said.
