Govt to Construct 1308 km of Roads

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government will take measures to complete construction of 1308 km of roads in the state, comprising a total of 548 rural roads which come under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) as part of Mission 676, said Rural Affairs Minister K C Joseph.

Of this, 61 roads would be completed within 100 days. In the second phase, the Detailed Project Report of 570 km roads would be submitted before the Centre for approval.

As many as 1,400 work days would be created under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Along with providing work days, the attempt is to create employments in the manufacturing sector, the Minister said.
