More Time Sought to Submit Cadastral Maps

The State Govt has asked the Ministry of Environment and Forests for two more months’ time for handing over the final version of cadastral maps of ESA villages.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Govt has asked the Ministry of Environment and Forests for two more months’ time for handing over the final version of cadastral maps of ESA villages.

This has been done to settle any dispute regarding the maps, since effecting corrections would be difficult once the MoEF issues the final notification. The Kerala State Biodiversity Board had uploaded the cadastral maps a few days ago on its website, and complaints regarding them were to be filed before the District Collectors concerned. “The Biodiversity Board’s part of the work is over,” KSBB member-secretary K P Laladas said. Once the complaints are looked into, corrections would be made and the maps would be transferred to the MoEF for the final notification.
