THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The bus fare revision which came into being from Monday midnight in the state could not be fully implemented in KSRTC owing to technical reasons.
Sources cited the non-transmission of the revised fare list from the electronic data processing centre of the KSRTC to depots as the reason for this.
It is estimated that the KSRTC lost lakhs of rupees due to the lapse in fully implementing revised fares. However, Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told ‘Express’ that no loss had occurred. ‘’It was a matter of confusion which existed for a short while only. We corrected it immediately’’ he said.
In every fare revision, the new timetable is sent to all depots through online which did not happen this time reportedly due to the lethargy on the part of the officials concerned.
