Operation Kuber: 229 Raids Held

As part of the ‘Operation Kuber’, State police conducted 229 raids across the state on Sunday, said DGP K S Balasubramanian.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : As part of the ‘Operation Kuber’, State police conducted 229 raids across the state on Sunday, said DGP K S Balasubramanian.

Around nine people were nabbed and 23 cases were registered in these raids. The accused were booked under the Kerala Money Lenders Act.  Cash amounting to Rs 1.66 lakh, documents including blank cheques, title deeds and vehicle registration certificates were  seized during the raids.

The steps against exorbitant money lenders will be continued in the coming days also, the DGP said.

A total of 5795 raids have been conducted across the state between May 11 and May 19.
