THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : A meeting of the IPS Association here on Tuesday decided to request the State Govt to re-designate the Civil Services Board with the Police Establishment Board constituted as per the Kerala Police Act.

It also urged the govt to follow the two year tenure norms mandated by the SC in posting the IPS officers. The meeting also will request the govt to create two more posts of Director-General of Police as it was noted that many officers in the department had to retire as Additional DGPs due to lack of vacancies.

The association also urged the govt to implement the commissionerate system in the cities of T’Puram and Kochi as was decided by the Cabinet earlier. The non-implementation of the system is a matter of serious concern, it noted.
