THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: E-payment facility will be rolled out shortly in sub-registrar offices in the state, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Registration Anoop Jacob said here the other day. He also announced that 100 new Maveli medical shops would be opened in the state in the next two years.

“Front offices would be opened in sub-registrar offices and encumbrance certificates would be issued within a day as part of the government’s ‘Mission 676’ programme,” he said. “The e-payment facility will be introduced once sub-registrar offices are internet-enabled,” the Minister said. The government is also planning to establish a Centre for Land Registration Studies in Koothattukulam.

“The centre will facilitate training of officials and act as a centralised document preservation facility for the department,” he said.
