KGMCTA Protests Govt Decision

The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) protested against the State Government’s decision to slash several benefits of Medical College teachers.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) protested against the State Government’s decision to slash several benefits of Medical College teachers.

“The government’s decision to stop the promotions to various posts based on the Career Advancement Programme has been affecting the chances of various PG courses getting approved by the Medical Council of India,” it said. KGMCTA also said that the denial of promotions had created dissatisfaction among the doctors which in turn affected the working of the hospitals. KGMCTA said that the Directorate of Medical Education and the government had been ignoring these doctors.

KGMCTA said that it was against the government’s attempts to increase the retirement age of Medical College teachers and said that it would go in for non-cooperation methods soon if the government did not take favourable decisions.
